About

Owen Joxef

DJ & founder · Joxef Studio

Originally from England and now based in Stockholm, Owen plays a refined blend of disco, house, Afro house and melodic, organic electronic music. More than a decade as a live drummer and bassist gives his sets their defining qualities: dynamic rhythm, warmth and tight, resonant low end.

He came up through Edinburgh’s underground — playing Cabaret Voltaire, The Mash House and The Caves, and leading the university’s Dance Music Society — before taking his sound from Melbourne to the Netherlands and onto Eindhoven’s RaRa Radio.

Today he is a regular presence in Stockholm, from Mälarpaviljongen and Freyja + Söder to Soho House and Eden, bridging live musicianship with contemporary club music.

FAQ

Questions & answers

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Write to Dondjbookings@gmail.com.

Where is the studio?

In Södermalm, a short walk from Skanstull. The exact address is shared once your session is confirmed.

Do I need any experience or equipment for lessons?

No. Lessons are designed for complete newcomers and early beginners, and everything you need is provided in the studio.

Which language are lessons taught in?

All communication, including every lesson, is in English.

Can I give the Foundation course as a gift?

Yes — it makes an excellent birthday present. Mention it in your enquiry and we will arrange the details.

What does a gig cost?

Every event is quoted individually. Share the date, venue, expected guests and set length, and you will receive a clear proposal.

Do you play weddings?

Selectively — where the music brief sits within the sound: disco, house and feel-good dance music rather than a request-led playlist.

How does payment work?

An invoice is issued after booking, payable by Swish or Bankgiro. No deposit is required.
